Cedar Falls abounds with history writers and the spring series of the Cedar Falls Authors Festival highlights just a few of them. Enjoy traveling through Cedar Falls and Iowa history—and learn more about the challenges of history writing—through these programs.  Receptions (and often book signings) will follow most programs. For events at UNI’s Rod Library, parking is available in the Baker lot just south of the library.

Visit cfauthorsfestival.org for information on the first half of the celebration of local writers, which featured nationally-recognized authors James Hearst, Ruth Suckow, Bess Streeter Aldrich, Robert James Waller and Nancy Price.

The Cedar Falls Historical Society has a library and archives full of rich local history resources, and community members are invited to set up a time to see the books, photographs, and historical papers in their collection. Their museum shop also contains many local history books. 319-266-5149  www.cfhistory.org
